Piano Lessons For All Ages!

High level music training for all ages in a fun and loving environment

About Me

I started playing the piano at the age of four and was taught through the Suzuki method. I continued to play and take lessons through high school, with much encouragement from my mother and aunt, as many teenagers need! I studied music at Dixie State College in Utah and earned my Associates in Arts.

I received my Bachelors degree from Metro State College of Denver in Fine Arts with an emphasis in piano performance. I had the privilege of being the soloist with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra during my senior year at Metro State.

After college, I have accompanied for high school choirs, church choirs, and for Metro State University students. I have taught piano for 13 years, and have enjoyed watching all my students grow as musicians. I enjoy playing at home and teaching my own three children piano. My goal is to provide students with a love of music and the ability to share beautiful music with others.

As I have studied music through high school and in college, I have come to appreciate teaching music to young children. I employ the Suzuki method for my younger students as a way for them to learn music by ear training coupled with good piano technique and attention to musicality. I am able to start children as young as four years old with this approach.

I also incorporate other traditional piano teaching methods, my favorite of which is the Faber Piano Adventures. When students begin to read it in school, this is a good time to start the piano reading books. I believe that by using a combination of these wonderful piano teaching methods, my students progress quickly and with good technique and musical ability and a solid knowledge of music theory.
